“Satan knows your name but He calls you by your sin
But God knows your sin But He calls you by your name..”

We can move mountains to rescue them. We can face indomitable odds to
protect them from their crazy Ex-s, Devils, and their Demons, but we can’t
save them from themselves. All the heroics, as gallant as they may be,
cannot save them from themselves. Everything we have done, and everything
we will do has enabled their behaviors, and paves the way to our own rueful
    heartache.
My last words to “her,” were; “I want you to be healthy, happy, clean, and
sober. I want you be free, but I can’t want it more than you.” Heaven
gave her a soul, and this world gave her a grave, and I know she is still
    not at rest.
Those that hurt her most, cried the loudest that dark day, as she predicted.
My years off-shore has reluctantly taught me, there is a point where you
have to face a hard truth, you have to let go of them, or let them drown
you, as you lose your world, in their addiction behaviors. No addict loves
you, more than they love their vice. We, are no more than a movable chip
on their game board, to be played. I never met an addict that wasn’t a
    master manipulator.
The first step to my restoration was to admit, I was living on her lies. I
had to make a stand, no more mixed messages, what I said was final, the
    first time.
The truth is, we never bury our dead. We carry our dead with us for all
our days, or we deal with the guilt of denying them our grief. All of what
we really love forever takes a piece of our heart with them for all of our
    days.

“I loved her, not for the way she danced with my angels…
But for the way the sound of her name could silence my demons.”
    Christopher Poindexter
